SlowBlast! is a program that will let you learn virtually anything from CD – chords, lyrics, solos, vocal stylings, bird calls or WHATEVER.
It works by slowing down any passage you select while retaining the original pitch and sound of the original, all with unprecedented sound quality.
1) When you come to a portion of music that you’d like to slow down, press the button with the red circle (Record) in the “Loop Recording” section of the SlowBlast! screen. Let the CD play until the section that you’d like to work with is complete, then press the Stop Recording button (the button with red rectangle next to Record button). Because it takes a while to slow down each section of music, we suggest working with sections of 5-15 seconds at a time. The Length indicator in the Loop Recording section gives you the length of the current section.
2) Once you’ve recorded a section, set the percentage of slowdown by dragging the “Loop PlayBack” slider. At its initial default of 60%, for instance, the loop will playback at 60% of full speed.
3) Hit the green triangle (playback) button underneath the percentage readout. A few seconds will pass while the computer processes the audio, and then playback of the slowed-down sound will start. The loop will play back until you hit the stop button. Note that the duration of the slowdown process depends on the length of the recorded section, the slowdown percentage (slower takes longer), and the speed of your computer.

1) This version adds some new features to the original SlowBlast! program.
The new features are:

2) Once the CD is recorded in SlowBlast!, the application will make a separate WAV file of the recorded audio. You can use that file as a template for the tracks you’d like to slow down – a nice touch when learning solos.
3) The new version also includes a new set of unique training modes. For example, if you’re playing a song that you’re learning for practice, but want to slow down only a particular part of the song, you can use the Repeat button to repeat that portion of the song and record it as a separate template. When the time comes to practice the section, you can simply press the Play button and SlowBlast! will slow down that section of the song, and it will play back at your desired rate. Repeat this process until you’re finished with your practice session.
4) The new version also includes a new interface that’s much more user-friendly.

There are three ways to create macros:
A) First, press the record button (the red circle button) on the toolbar. Using the length of the recording, start from where you want your Macros to start. At any time, if you press the record button, the current macro will stop and start recording again.
B) Secondly, click the “Record” button. On the keyboard, press a combination of keys to record. Cmd-Spacebar (on Magic Mouse) will stop recording as well as start recording again.
C) Thirdly, click the little wheel (in the top right corner of the toolbar) to display the drop down menu. Click “Modify” and then click “+” to add a macro to the list. When recording a macro, you can change the number of times the macro will play by clicking on the little wheel, then clicking on the number of times (1, 2, etc). For instance, if you want to play a macro 5 times, press the wheel, then click “5” and the macro will play 5 times. If you’re using the keyboard, press Cmd-Spacebar to stop recording.
Macros can be played, reversed, replayed, stopped, altered, and faded, but there are no shortcuts to play a macro quickly. The system keyboard is used.
KEYMACRO:
1) Macro Play/Playback: You can now activate the currently selected macro (the macro that you’ve created by pressing the little wheel on the toolbar) by pressing the little wheel or click the “Play” button next to the current Macro. If the macro is currently playing, the playing will stop and the next macro in the list will start. To re-start a macro that you’ve stopped, simply click the little wheel or click the “Play” button next to the macro. The currently playing macro will resume from where you stopped.
