Considerations
The Firewall is only a first layer of security. More important is to understand the implications of packet spoofing.
Packets can be easily altered or intercepted and can be retransmitted under different addresses.
Such packets are then reassembled and reinterpreted as part of the multi-cast traffic, once reassembled. Changing the data packet can effectively change the response that is generated.
That is why common practice is to use a proxy at the firewall to ensure the source address is what the application expects. This may be a very complex and expensive solution.

Selecting the Physical Layer for multicast
No matter which protocol is used, MultiCastor will need the layer to handle the multi-cast traffic. The same protocol may be used for both sending and receiving so there are no problems.
By default the layer will be selected based on the LAN (local area network) configuration. It will check that the selected protocol is enabled in the device configuration.
It will also monitor the active multicast interfaces. This is a key factor when no multicast state is found.
Ideally we would like to use the IP in Kernel’s routing table.
But in very complex networks the IP routing may not be valid on all the interfaces (multi-homed servers), just to cover the possibilities:

My Java app needs to connect and send data to realtime server. Currently I use the httpClient to send data. I do not like the idea of using the httpClient as the data needs to be sent in a realtime manner, meaning the data needs to be sent simultaneously to every other apps on that server. Is it possible to do this? My Java app is currently running with Jetty server and uses the HttpClient library.
