================== 1. Supports either wav or mp3 format. 2. Adjusts bitrate to approximately match the original. 3. Adjusts the trimming off to match the original. 4. Adjusts the fade-in/fade-out time to match the original. 5. Adjusts the volume to match the original. 6. Supports single-file sound level adjustment only, and supports any number of files. 7. Adjusts the gain using the replaygain.org algorithm, and the gain being adjusted is less than -12 db. 8. There is no clipping, and this is the normal, intended operation. 9. There is no more than a 2-second fade-in/fade-out, there is no more than a 4-second fade-in/fade-out. 10. In the case of MP3 files, the track never plays more than 16 seconds longer at a time, and never plays more than 16 seconds shorter at a time. 11. The volume is not adjusted to match the original, but with a maximum gain of -6 dB. 12. The default bitrate is 128 kbps for the wav files and 128 kbps for the mp3 files. 13. The trimming off is proportional to the file size, so as the file size increases the trimming off increases, and vice-versa. 14. The fade-in/fade-out time is proportional to the file size. 15. The sound level is adjusted using the replaygain.org algorithm, which is a provably fair method. 16. The gain is -18 db at the lowest point, which is still within -12 db of the original, and the highest point is about -2 dB. 17. You can re-adjust the files using the same script if you want to. ORISurfaceDecoder is designed to be a demo for the ORISurface sample libraries. It is a fast multi-threaded decoder, capable of decoding CD, CUE, DVD, VCD, PAL or NTSC format files. Its main goal is to provide a single, simple-to-use, program for playing one or more input files on a preview surface within the Play/Stop/Pause buttons and the slider bar. ORISurfaceDecoder includes two sample interfaces: ■ Direct surface/media I/O (sample) – a

LevTrim is the VB6 version of “LevTrim 2” (now an online program), and as I said above, it is simple to use, easy to integrate, and is totally free. LevTrim is completely written in VB6, fully compatible with.NET, EXE works in all Windows versions. “LevTrim 2” can currently be downloaded from here. LevTrim Features: ■ Supports Windows 2000 or later operating system, Windows 95 is not supported. ■ Automatically corrects the Replay Gain using the new rules, no longer needs to be manually adjusted. ■ Retains Replay Gain for individual song or single mp3 file. ■ Very easy to integrate with your pre-recorded music/mp3 files and to create a new or edit the current music library. ■ Automatically converts all the files with Replay Gain not greater than 0 dB to new files with Replay Gain 0 dB. ■ It can also automatically convert all the files with Replay Gain not less than 0 dB to new files with Replay Gain 0 dB. ■ It can automatically convert mp3 files that have Replay Gain already set in the files themselves from one value to another. ■ Supports many more format files than Replaygain.org suggests. Currently LevTrim supports mp3, wav, wma, ogg, flac, ape, rar, aiff, flac and vbr format files. ■ It can be controlled/generated from the command line (see the “Command Line Usage” section below). ■ It does not clip the audio signal, so that one can’t damage the sound by using the replay gain on too low a level. It actually improves the sound quality. ■ It encodes/decodes a maximum of 20 mp3/wav files at the same time. LevTrim Installation: ■ Double click on “LevTrim.exe” and it will be added to the Tools menu of the VB6 IDE. ■ Double click on “LevTrim.exe” and it will be added to the Tools menu of the Windows command-line. ■ Right-click on the LevTrim.exe icon in the Windows explorer, then select the “Run” command ■ Edit the “LevTrim.ini” file by appending the “c 91bb86ccfa

■ If nothing is specified, LevTrim will automatically determine the correct gain through automatic gain control on a trial-by-trial basis, then adjust the replay gain factor to compensate for any damage, as defined by the ReplayGain specification. You can also specify the output gain and MP3 quality for each individual file. ■ If you want a VBR MP3 format, you can also try LevTrim with the -m option, which uses an aggressive VBR mode. ■ If you want to use a digital watermark, use LevTrim with the -d option ■ LevTrim can also adjust the gain using the ReplayGain or CDGR Verified.Org specifications, using the -r option. Using the -r option, LevTrim can adjust the replay gain, use the CDGR replay gain profile (replay gain factor), average bitrate, peak bitrate, use the FAST CD version of the ReplayGain specification, and correct audio clipping as well as trimming off silence. ■ LevTrim also uses the CDGCN option, to (optionally) correct changes in the copy-protection scheme of a CD. This makes sure that you will not get an error message if you use the CD in CD players that don’t allow copy protection. ■ If your playback/recording hardware supports ReplayGain decoding, then LevTrim is using the RD format (which is simple and very robust, as long as your hardware is consistent, but doesn’t support the CDGR ReplayGain spec), where you can use -r to specify which ReplayGain format you want to use. The VBR option is useful if you don’t have ReplayGain support, but is not necessary. ■ As long as you have a supported ReplayGain profile, you can specify the maximum ReplayGain, or use the CDGR Verified.Org ReplayGain spec. ■ LevTrim doesn’t support the CDGCCN option, because you can’t use most special features of a CD without copyright-protected materials. ■ You can also specify individual files with an optional -n option. The -n option is useful if you have many files to encode/decode. ■ If you specify a file with the -n option, and you want a different output gain for each individual file, you can add this to the command line,
