Most of the work in LastSharp is done by current Last.fm ripper, decoder, and normalizer, which just require several minor modifications to compile and run natively on Linux. Instead of rewriting all of the code to run on Linux, the source code is partially compiled to run a subset of the code on Linux. This patch attempts to compile and run both softdog and xmms-mpg123 as they are compiled for the same Linux machine. It is for x86 systems only. (x86, x86_64, arm)

Download and compile:
Please note that softdog is built against the Last.fm website’s runtime environment. If you are not online to the Last.fm website you will not have access to the latest version of the software. Therefore you should run./configure –prefix=/usr first.
If you are going to use the web interface on Last.fm (instead of the shell script) you should run./configure –prefix=/usr –with-web.
Note: I don’t know how important this is for you, but the last.fm website uses xulrunner for their user interface and another lib for their various scripts. If you don’t have that, and are just trying to use this web interface, you won’t have an xulrunner runtime at runtime. So, compiling xulrunner might not be as important as it otherwise is.
Note: I only have one interface for Last.fm on my machine. Depending on what version of softdog is available through Launchpad, I may have multiple installed.
Once you’ve made sure you have the dependencies run:
./configure –prefix=/usr –with-web
Once that is done you can run make to start the compilation. If something fails you can check it with the usual suspects:

As you run LastSharp for the first time you need to set up an account at the manufacturer’s online service. You will need to provide the software a valid e-mail address so that you can receive alert messages. You will also need to type in a password for your account. No hard copy for this is necessary. If you forget your password or username, go to the manufacturer’s website and create a new account. You will need to provide your Username and your password, so you will have to remember the password.
To close a program, double-click on its [X] in the taskbar.

The development of Last.FM, a free web site that features millions of songs downloaded from other people, is now a big enough business that I’m looking to get a job. So I’m developing LastSharp, a software utility that lets Last.FM users download, organize and play music files.
LastSharp is designed to be a comfortable client / ripper for the internet radio Last.FM. It offers functions like normalizing downloaded files via mp3Gain, remembering downloads, playing music files in the included audio player, etc.
Unlike Last.FM, LastSharp does not have the big-brother-ism that artificially restricts the user. Everything is user-oriented, and that’s the only way I think things should be.
There is a version for Windows and it should be easy to port to Linux & Mac.
A lot of developers with knowledge in Java, C/C++ and C# might want to have a go at the project.
I have serious knowledge in all three of these languages, so it is mainly a matter of finding a Java developer that wants to do some C coding and actually likes C#.
The code base is written in Java and contains classes used for loading the last.fm data, extracting tags from files, music files decoding, normalizing files, etc. The Java classes use native libraries to access the last.fm API (every new release of the API causes incompatibilities).
The code base contains a ‘native’ C interface to the Java classes.

I have been waiting for a similar C# Last.fm clone with a Java API for a long time and just checked your GitHub link a few minutes ago.
looks quite promising and I am sure this will be a popular project for the audience here on StackOverflow, so I already cloned it.
The project is written in Java and contains a native C interface. Since C# developers are familiar with the native C interface to the Java API, no major problem should arise in porting it to C#.
