Keymanager detects the presence of a “Super Password” and checks for the availiability of this information.
It creates a key based on the current user, host and current operation (e.g. current user logon). The current operation can be a device or an IP address. You can configure which operations are allowed. You can define the secret key which is used to create the password.
Keymanager checks if the information about the secret key is available.
If no info is available the keymanager creates a new key.
KEYMANAGER USAGE:

The keymanager can be used by multiple users. It checks if there is an old secret key available. If there is no key available the keymanager asks for the secret key.
If the secret key is available the keymanager checks if the current system is a domain member or a domain controller. If the current system is a domain member the keymanager creates a key for the current user and for the current host. If the current system is a domain controller the keymanager creates a key for the current user and for the current domain.

The Application Access Server is a Windows compatible Web server which can be used to connect applications to a Windows based TCP/IP network.
It can be configured by an HTML based Webinterface, its drivers and installed applications.
The concept of the Application Access Server is based on a “passive” server which creates a transparent connection between the connected applications and the WebBrowser.
It works as a “Web server” as it can be used as a web server, a “WebProxy” because it lets you control the requests the browser receives, or as a “DNS server” if the application needs a DNS lookup to a web site to get it’s settings.
The A-A-S runs a variety of small programs which are installed to the connected application. These programs are kept in their own directory where each program is closed to any other program.
Some of the installed programs are:
Standalone Gateway – Another web server which is installed in the same directory as the WebBrowser and lets you control the requests the browser receives. Its features are a WebServer, WebProxy and DNS Server and more. The Standalone Gateway is a good tool if the host service is a “Server” and a big amount of people need to be connect to it. The Standalone Gateway is a very easy-to-handle program which you just need to install and start it as the WebBrowser in the installtion software.
HTTPS – Its installed in the same directory as the WebBrowser and lets you install a self signed certificate. You can choose the port which the certificate is active on, for example 8443. The HTTPS certificate is active for every type of connection (HTTP, HTTPS, FTPS).
P2P File Transfers – Its installed in the same directory as the WebBrowser and lets you use P2P applications like eMule, GETnAP, BitTorrent or Azureus to transfer files. If you use the P2P application it will automatically start if the A-A-S is running. It has a built-in configuration interface so you can easy define the access rules for your P2P application.

What’s New in the Application Access Server?

Access Server is a Java application for managing your system with
a HTTP-Server. The server is able to start and stop services, manage
processes, deinstall software, report system information etc.

The server is running as an Java Servlet. So you should have a Java
Runtime Environment and a HTTP Server.

It supports remote administration over internet, over LAN or WAN. So
it needs internet access and a webbrowser.

It needs at least the password you use for the installation of the
A-A-S. It stores the passwords in a MySQL-database. The application
is not able to delete the passwords from the server but can put you
on a blacklist.

If you have set a wrong password, you will be put on the blacklist.

You have to have at least the version 2.1.0. In this version you can
set a password. In the next versions the server will have the chance
to detect a wrong password.

The application only writes the wrong passwords in a text file to
the disk. It is no solution to change the wrong password.

You must set a password for the application! You should use a strong
password and never write it on a disk.

You can use this version if you don’t want to have the sourcecode
but only the binary. If you have the sourcecode you can easily change
all the passwords.

The Security-Definition is based on the security-definition for SQL
Injection. It is a virtual security.

The security is the same if an attacker has the hostname of the server.

So you should keep the password secret.

You should keep the password always “in the head” because when you
have the correct password you can do whatever you want.
