1. Using the Quick Key Commands

The Rectangle tool is used to draw boxes and lines on your image. Use it to crop off objects you don’t want in your photo.
3. Selection Tools
The Select Tool allows you to select a portion of the image to be used in the photo. You can select a group of objects or a specific object.
The Magic Wand tool is another tool used to select an image. It works differently from the Select Tool. To use it, simply point it at the object or group of objects in the image you want to select.
The Pencil tool is used to draw around the image. It creates a mask that contains the area selected by the tool. To remove the selection, go to Select→Inverse.
4. Rectangle Selection Tool
The Rectangle Selection Tool is used to select a portion of the image for manipulation. You can select a rectangle, or you can create your own selection around an object.
This tool also has its own keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+R for rectangle, and Ctrl+U for selection.
You can use the Move Tool to manipulate the corners and sides of the selection. Holding the Ctrl key down while clicking allows you to drag up or down to increase or decrease the size of the selection.
