Julia Shapes (just a cool name) is a collection of 3d fractal generators written for OS X (and Linux) using OpenGL and requires OpenGL 2.1. It is based on a fractal formula that has been used before, in a different form and with different parameters.
The application uses render-to-texture to create textures and to change orientation is nearly free so it has been optimized to render as fast as it can.
New Features:
Fuzzy rendering:
If you enable this option you have to select a percentage of “fuzziness” of the rendered fractal. For example if you select 100% it will be completely fuzzy.
There is a preview window so you can see the rendered fractal in the best way possible.
Change in fractal formula:
In v0.4 we decided to use a different fractal formula than the previous version because the previous formula was not really fun to watch and we wanted to make it more playable. The new fractal formula is the result of years of research. The formula is a little bit more complex and the source code is not available yet but we will do the best we can to introduce it to our users as soon as it is ready.

You can force Julia Shapes to render with 0 antialiasing
Anti-aliasing is so good that it can be tiring to watch but if you are interetsed in this check this feature and try to select a percentage of antialiasing.
Also some antialiasing is allowed at the beginning to render something and then it is rendered with full anti-aliasing.
Post process:
It is possible to use the post process feature to create some cool effects that you can download from the effects folder.
