The first step to get everything to work properly is to make sure the NAS is powered up and connected to the internet. There’s no way around a functional internet connection for this tool to work. Make sure it’s powered up and internet-connected.
Now open the MyIomegastore folder on your desktop. This contains a startup/shutdown script. Edit the first line to be the right IP of the NAS. Be sure to change the route_ip to the IP of the NAS you’re using, not your gateway!
Click OK to confirm.
Now you have to make sure your NAS is online. You can do so in two ways:
Method 1. If you have a valid Internet connection (i.e. a modem connected to a router), this is fine. Simply open your browser and open the search bar. Type in 192.168.1.1. If there are no problems you should see a message that the NAS is reachable. If this appears, you have a valid IP and the NAS is online.
If 192.168.1.1 doesn’t work, the NAS is behind a firewall (or you don’t have a modem), then you will need to access the NAS through the console.
Method 2. If you don’t have a valid internet connection, you will need to get into your NAS and check if the address is correct. To get into the NAS, you need to know the IP address of your NAS. You can find out in MyIomegastore that by selecting the device. Under’more info’ you will see the IP address of your NAS.
