History

Images of the subject were captured by the camera and projected onto the plate to be viewed.

1. Basic Tools
Paint Brush
This tool is found under the W menu. It lets you create a new filled or stroke area as well as select an existing filled or stroke area. The Paint Brush is very basic and it’s main function is to fill an area with a color. It doesn’t let you make fine adjustments to the settings, but it’s still a good tool to use when you’re just trying to create a basic image.
Gradient Tool
This tool is located under the W menu. This tool lets you make selections and make simple adjustments to the colors in those areas. The Gradient Tool is very simple to use and it can create both linear and radial gradients.
Lasso Tool
This tool is located under the C menu. The Lasso Tool is very similar to the Select tool in Aperture. You can use it to make selections from an image by drawing a box with dots around the areas that you want to select. Once you make your selection, you can invert the selection or delete the selected area from the image. Like the Select Tool, the Lasso Tool doesn’t let you make fine selections, and it’s not a good tool for fine-tuning adjustments to areas.
Pencil Tool
This tool is located under the A menu. The Pencil tool is designed to mimic the behavior of a pen or marker. If you click and hold on the tool, you can move the tool on a canvas and make drawings. The Pencil Tool requires a very small amount of finesse. In addition to being able to use it for drawings, you can also use it to apply strokes to an area. Use the Pencil Tool to add strokes to an image and then you can use the Eraser Tool to erase the areas that were created.
Eraser Tool
This tool is located under the E menu. The Eraser tool can remove just the area that you paint on with the Pencil Tool or you can remove multiple areas from the image.
Select tool
This tool is located under the A menu. The Select tool can be used to add, select or remove areas from an image. The Select tool can make very complex selections, but it doesn’t let you make any kind of fine adjustments to the selection.
