Creating a Photoshop Image
As with other image editing programs, Photoshop enables you to create or update existing images, add text, and add layers to the image. You can insert text directly into the image or create a layer just for the text and then add it to an existing layer.
Figure 2-2 illustrates a more complex image that contains both graphic elements and text as separate layers in the Photoshop file.
