## Creating an Image

You can create a new file in two ways:
* **From a template:** If you have Photoshop installed on your computer, you already have some templates; you may notice a `.psd` file in your Pictures folder. To change the folder from which Photoshop saves new files, right-click a file-folder icon, choose Properties, and then select the Save As location. For example, click your folder icon, choose Properties, and then select the Preview location from the drop-down menu.
* **From your own raw image:** If you need to create a blank file in which to begin editing an image, you can shoot it directly into Photoshop and then use the File menu to create a new file.
