I’m using iOS 11 to write this right now. I’ve been using it for a month and even though I’ve had a few issues, it’s been amazing for my productivity.

I’m no fanboy. I always try to find the best tool for the job, no matter what tool it is.

I used to use iOS and OS X on a daily basis because I had a MacBook and an iMac at home. My iPhone never had OS X and I only ever installed iOS on it because I was a dumbass who didn’t know how to do anything else with it.

And, this is where the problem starts.

OS X is designed for touch screens. It’s intended to be used with touch controls, not via keyboard and mouse.

Apple doesn’t make any claim about their hardware being “easy to use”, however they do advertise that all their OS’s are “designed to work with a single-handed, touchscreen input”. The iPad is the perfect example of this. If you’re going to be using a tablet, you are a touch interface and keyboard is a hindrance. If you want to type, use a keyboard. Don’t get pissed off because I said “keyboard” and not “keypad”. You can use a keyboard, but it’s slower and your target audience (read: normal people) will not understand or want to use a keyboard.
